About Me

About Me

Hey y'all, I'm Susanna — call me Susie.

I’m a birth and postpartum doula, midwife apprentice, and passionate advocate for families navigating pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum journey. My mission is simple: to help you feel informed, supported, and confident every step of the way.

I believe every family deserves compassionate, respectful, and culturally aware care. That’s why my work is rooted in creating educated experiences and providing meaningful support and resources.

Since beginning this journey in 2022, I’ve had the honor of supporting families in hospitals, birth centers, and home birth settings. These experiences have given me a well-rounded understanding of how to meet families where they are and provide personalized care that honors their unique needs and choices.

My training includes certifications in birth doula support, postpartum doula care, newborn care, BLS/CPR, NRP, HIPAA, cultural diversity awareness, and other maternal health and safety practices, so you can trust that you’re in knowledgeable, capable hands.

The heart behind this work is deeply personal. Witnessing the realities of maternal mortality, medical neglect, and loss of autonomy, especially towards Black and Brown women, strengthened my commitment to making birth work safer, more empowering, and more supportive for all families.

Whether you’re preparing for your first baby or growing your family again, I’m here to walk beside you with warmth, advocacy, and care. You don’t have to do this alone.

Beyond credentials

While my training and certifications are important, what truly drives my work is a deep respect for the birthing process and the families I serve. I bring patience, intuition, and a genuine love for this work to every interaction.

When I’m not supporting families, you’ll find me reading the latest research on maternal health, tending to my garden, or spending time with my own family. I believe in practicing the same self-care and balance that I encourage in the families I work with.

I’m based in Houston and serve families throughout the surrounding areas. I’d be honored to be part of your birth and postpartum journey.
